The Key to Humanity is a night time Side Quest in Dying Light 2 Stay Human.
Objectives
- Search the dark hollow for the mysterious CD.
- I found the CD. Didn't look very special to me...
- Bring the CD to the scientist.
- I delivered the CD to the scientist. It turned out to contain... classical music. According to the scientist only culture can save humanity right now.
Walkthrough
On the rooftops on the border between Quarry End and Trinity, a survivor named Dustin can be heard speaking to himself. Upon talking to him, he will state that he is looking for his father's CD. Dustin states that his father says that the future of mankind depends on it. Dustin himself is unaware of what the CD contains, and asks for Aiden's help to retrieve it. The CD was left behind in their apartment in a bag or backpack.
The apartment itself is part of a Dark Hollow in western Horseshoe. Be mindful as there are three special infected types inside: Spitters, Virals and Howlers, as well as regular Biters. The CD can be found in the hard-locked treasure room of the complex on the top floor. It is located in the sports bag on the coffee table.
After obtaining the CD, head to The Bazaar in Trinity. Dustin's father Stellan can be outside of the church. Deliver it to Stellan to learn that the CD is just a music disc. After Stellan starts playing the CD, the quest is completed.

- The CD can be retrieved in the mission can be seen after handing it to Dustin's father Stellan, it is titled "Charlie2". This is a reference to Dying Light 1's Mother's Day quest where Crane must retrieve the movie "Charlie" for Gazi.
