The Deputy is a weapon modification that appears in Dying Light. Its blueprint can be acquired at the start of the game through the Vintage Gunslinger bundle DLC pack. It can only be applied to the long knifes, including kukris.
Overview
The weapon mod deals no elemental effect but does slightly boost the range of the knife as well as change the look of it, as expected. The weapon is still a long knife and so the weapon range is still quite short, however it can be beneficial if applying to a particularly short long knife, as it will gain the range of the kukri. It has a fast attack speed so for quickly cutting down a lone infected it can work well but it's most beneficial for fighting humans such as Rais' Men who won't be able to dodge all the quick attacks performed by this blade. Fighting infected is a second priority with this weapon as such, so it should only be used for retrieving airdrops and killing the soldiers guarding them.
