Heatwave is a skin for the Upgraded Crossbow. It is functionally the same in every way except for its appearance. As expected, it means that any strategies that can be used on the Upgraded Crossbow can be used for this weapon.
Overview
Due to the increased firepower and accuracy, this weapon is significantly deadlier on medium swarms in long distances. Despite its upgrade, this weapon did not gain any additional increase on firing rate meaning the weaknesses of the Compound Crossbow still applies to it. Any buffs the crossbow bolt variations apply are still applicable on this weapon as well.
