The Hunting Shotgun is a firearm in Dying Light introduced in Dying Light: The Following. It can be purchased from shops, found in loot caches and rarely, in the trunks of police sedans and vans.

One can be found in the military crates once unlocked.

Overview

Exclusive in The Following expansion pack, it is initially a rare find and can be most likely found being sold in shops. One of the locations for the Hunting Shotgun can be found in the military crates once unlocked.

Comparing to the Semi-Automatic Shotgun, the Hunting Shotgun has a higher firepower and value, and a lower rate of fire. Both contain the same amount of accuracy. Comparing to the Double-Barrel Shotgun, both have the same stats except for rate of fire. Currently, it is the only shotgun in-game to fire in pump action.

There is only one variant of the Hunting Shotgun available in Dying Light: The Following.

Trivia

  • The Hunting Shotgun appears to resemble a Remington 870, containing a ribbed barrel and ghost ring-styled sights.
  • Along with the Semi-Automatic Shotgun, the player's model in-game does not aim down the sights properly.
  • Along with the Semi-Automatic Shotgun, the Hunting Shotgun was found in the files prior to it being included in Dying Light: The Following. The two weapons were initially created into mods from Nexus, as well as the two appearing for the Shotgun section of the Dying Light Official Game Guide.
