The Rust Assault Rifle is a Firearms mod available in the Rust weapon pack free DLC for Dying Light. The mod is for any type of Rifle but can't be found in the game world. Instead it is placed in the player's inventory upon installing the free DLC and loading into the game.
Overview
The weapon mod is a pretty large overhaul for the rifle as it turns it from the standard American or European looking rifles into an AK. To add to this, fitting the theme of the free DLC, it's a cobbled together AK using all sorts of spare parts scavenged from Harran such as welding a couple of magazines together to get a banana magazine as well as using a shovel handle as a stock. Regardless, it does keep the rifle functional and while it does not boost the damage much, it does get an expanded magazine capacity of 30 rounds as well as the ability to fire fully automatic, something the Police Rifle is unable to do, so if you value fully automatic fire, particularly for shooting down Volatiles, then this is a valuable upgrade even if it deals no elemental effect damage. The sights are standard AK style iron sights that are easy enough to use and the weapon can still be fired in single shot if precision is needed. Most notably, the biggest draw to this blueprint is the low amount of craft parts needed to make it, with just some metal parts and duct tape, with a tin can being the only uncommon part needed, but even that is quite common to find in Chests or other containers.
