Metro Stations are points of interest in Dying Light 2 Stay Human.

Summary

An official map of Villedor's metro system.

The city of Villedor, also known as The City, contains a large metro system that once served one million daily commuters. According to in-game descriptions, the system was built in the second half of the 20th century, with services first starting on July 6th, 1951. The system appears to have three lines.

Villedor's metro system serves as a fast-travel mechanic, with the player unlocking fast-travel points by liberating Metro Stations. Though initial reports before the game was released indicated that order to use the fast-travel network, players need to physically visit a Metro Station, rather than using the map, players can currently fast travel to any metro station from anywhere in the world without visiting a station directly.

Activating the Metro System

Players will first gain access to the fast-travel component of the Metro System after completing the mission Let's Waltz, and will be notified that they have unlocked Fast Travel shortly after leaving the Downtown Metro Station.

After this point, it is up to players to activate the other available metro stations on the map, though there are indications that there is a quest that entails the activation of the station under the Fish Eye Canteen.

Until metro stations are activated, they will either be occupied by Renegades or infested with the infected. Stations that are full of infected are best handled at night to avoid encounters with more dangerous forms of infected, while it is understood that Renegade-occupied stations can be tackled at any time of day without any variance in difficulty.

The player must enter the station and make their way to the power switch, facing enemies in the process. Some stations simply require the player to flip the switch, whereas others have a large, cavernous chamber underneath that is free of enemies but is contaminated by toxic THV chemicals. Players must navigate these chambers to turn on all of the marked emergency generators. The chamber is not lit by UV light, so players will need to ensure they have enough resources to keep their immunity high. There is, however, a generator at the entrance to the chamber which can be started to activate a UV light in that particular spot. After this, the station can be activated.

After activation, the player can fast travel to the station via the map, currently from any point in the world (unless fighting enemies). Every activated station features a safe zone (where an inhibitor will now appear) with a bed and stash and some have close or direct access to major settlements, such as the station adjacent to the PK Floating Fortress, which has two entrances (one outside the settlement and one inside).
