"This extraordinary weapon literally shines in the hands of a skilled warrior. Chain hits together to awaken an ancient power imbued into its blade and enjoy a damage boost."
In-game description

The Leaping Tiger Dao is a weapon modification that appears in Dying Light. Its blueprint can be acquired at the start of the game through the Shu Warrior bundle DLC pack. It applies no elemental effect but does boost damage done after several consecutive hits.

Overview

The Leaping Tiger Dao has the ability to turn most sharp weapons into a sword, something very useful if all you have to hand is a short bladed weapon like a cleaver. The weapon does not give any elemental effects but the weapon's power is boosted after several consecutive successful hits. Thanks to this and the ability to have a separate elemental mod effect applied to it as well as being a sharp weapon, it can easily dispose of small hordes of Biters and dispatching Virals is a breeze. It's also good at dealing with Goons and other tougher enemies, since the damage boost after a couple of hits makes their high health pretty moot.
