The V-27 Shifter is a weapon modification that appears in Dying Light. Its blueprint can be acquired at the start of the game through the Ultimate Survivor Bundle DLC pack. It applies three different elemental effects on successful consecutive hits. It can only be applied to Machetes.
Overview
This weapon mod is very unique in that it doesn't apply one specific effect on a critical hit. Instead, it swaps between effects after a couple of successful hits, changing between toxic, fire and electrical effects. This means that one hit could set a zombie on fire, the next could poison another and the third hit could electrocute both of them. While this is a very novel effect, depending on what you're looking for it might not be all that useful, as while it can give three different effects, the three change up each hit so if you're looking for specifically a toxic effect, there are other mods that apply the specific effect guaranteed. However, if you're looking for a fun mod to mess around with, the V-27 Shifter is still a good mod that applies elemental effects.
