Dying 2 Know is a webseries created by Techland and hosted by Leah Alexandra (also known as Leahviathan), Jonah Scott (the voice of Aiden Caldwell) and Tymon Smektała (the lead game designer) and was used to promote Dying Light 2 Stay Human while providing new information and gameplay.

Dying 2 Know Episode 1

May 27, 2021

Dying 2 Know episode 1 is hosted by Leah Alexandra and Jonah Scott.

In the days leading up to the stream, Techland had posted short clips of a wall ingame, the wall had graffiti that read ¨SAVE THE CITY¨ as night fell and UV lamps would reveal that there was a message behind it, every day a new word would be added to the message until it said ¨ARE YOU DYING 2 KNOW MORE?¨

They sent content creators and press special packages to get people hyped for the streams, they did this with every episode. The package for the first episode contained 3 postcards with concept art, a poster of a PK outpost a UV flashlight, and a letter from The City. The postcards and UV flashlight are the same included in the Collectors Edition.

A UGC community contest is also announced, there were 3 different categories, Writing, Fan Art, and Cosplay. The rewards consisted of copies of Dying Light 2 (Collectors, Deluxe and Standard editions) as well as surprise crates and cash prizes.

They announce new stuff such as the Platinum Edition of Dying Light, which launched on sale and featured every piece of DLC at the time.

They then show off a 7 minute gameplay trailer of Dying Light 2, revealing the full name ¨Dying Light 2 Stay Human¨ as well as showing characters like Hakon (who had a different voice at the time) and new designs for the infected. Lawan also had a different model in the trailer, as they wanted to announce Rosario Dawson's involvement later.

The release date is announced shortly after, at the time it was December 7th 2021 but was delayed to February 4th 2022 in September 2021

Preorders and special editions of the game are also announced and went live right after the stream ended.

They announce TechlandGG, a replacement for the original Dockets site, it launched a few days later and wallpapers and "The Wasp" were both claimable along with some codes that were released.

The episode ends with a teaser for Episode 2, set to be based around the infected and night time.

Dying 2 Know Episode 2

July 1, 2021

Dying 2 Know Episode 2 is hosted by Leah Alexandra, as Jonah was busy recording lines for Aiden.

Techland sent out another package to content creators, the package promoting episode 2 contained a T-Shirt and a card with a picture of a special infected, as well as 2 stickers.

The episode opens with the elevator cutscene from the VNC Tower mission, it is recommended that you do not watch this part if you haven't gotten to that mission as it contains heavy spoilers. It is also the first time we saw Matt since 2019, at the time it was unconfirmed if the 2019 demo characters were still in the game.

They highlight the community briefly, showing off steam wishlists, trailer views and the discord.

A new gameplay trailer is shown, this is the first time Hakon's final voice was shown, in it Aiden and Hakon venture into Saint Joseph Hospital to get a biomarker for Aiden.

A comic book, BANSHEE: I AM THE CURE is revealed and was available on TechlandGG right after the stream ended. It is now a reward for reaching Level 12 Builder.

They announce a Monsters Quiz which asks a few questions and tells you what monster you would become, or if you would stay human. There is also a another page, dubbed "Monsterization" on how humans transform into monsters as well as a page on the history of the virus from Harran to Villedor. The song playing in the background is track 24 The Mark from the official OST.

They announce that after the first episode of Dying 2 Know, Dying Light had the highest player count on all platforms since the launch of the game and announce the Savvy Gamer Bundle and 4th of July event, as well as a reminder that TechlandGG exists and The Wasp is still available.

They announce that the UGC Community Contest has already started, and then tease the next episode with a clip of David Belle doing mocap work for the game, and that the next episode will be about parkour and combat.

Dying 2 Know Episode 3 (Gamescom Edition)

August 26, 2021

Dying 2 Know Episode 3 is hosted by Lead Gamer Designer Tymon Smektała and was shown at Gamescom 2021

Techland sent out a third package to content creators, containing a hat and a letter from Hakon.

A few days prior, there was a short segment during the Xbox Gamescom stream where the Decide the Fate of The City Gameplay Trailer was shown off.

The video opens with Tymon welcoming the Gamescom viewers, and briefly recaps the last 2 episodes.

The big man announces the brilliant hammer on TechlandGG, at the time it was impossible to get on the site. Currently it sits at Level 16 Trader. Around this time the Aiden's Outfit (also known as the Stay Human Outfit) was also made unlockable through earning each gear piece individually, if you had unlocked the Bracers at this time you would have 2 of them at launch due to a future update.

The Decide the Fate of The City trailer is shown off again, there is some audio changes but it is the same trailer as the one shown prior. The version posted on the official channel is the one shown a few days prior

The UGC Contest gets another update, Tymon announces the grand jury that will choose the best cosplays, Irina Meier, Lightning Cosplay, Narga & Aoki, and Enjinight.

Tymon summarizes the episode, and announces Dying Light on Nintendo Switch, which was shown during a Nintendo Direct on September 23st 2021 along with the unreleased cloud version of Dying Light 2.

Dying 2 Know Episode 4

September 30, 2021

Dying 2 Know Episode 4 is hosted by Tymon and Leah

To promote this episode, Techland sent a card out to content creators announcing that Olivier Deriviere will be on and as well as a special guest, though the guests name is blacked out.

The video opens with a short montage set to The Joy of Parkour, then Leah and Tymon recap the first 3 episodes

The City section of TechlandGG is announced, which no longer exists but it used to contain links to videos showing off aspects of the game. Old Dying Light event items are also brought back as rewards. Ye Olde Trusty sits at Level 5 Outsider, Dragon's Breath Bow at Level 6 Farmer and Neon Storm Buggy at Level 9 Farmer.

During the segment with Olivier Deriviere, a short gameplay clip is shown of AIden running around Old Villedor with The Joy of Parkour playing, this clip was to demonstrate the parkour music system and how dynamic it is.

There is another segment about the soundtrack, revealing that it was made in collaboration with London Contemporary Orchestra. Olivier also talks about the soundtrack and shows off an instrument made from trash that Olivier describes as something that could be in Dying Light 2. Right after the stream the main theme Run, Jump, Fight was released on YouTube and Spotify.

Tymon and Leah talk about Aiden and Hakon, and reveal that there is another main character named Lawan who is based off of and played by Rosario Dawson. A short video with Rosario is filmed as she talks about Lawan and how she is impacted by the players choice, that she can be a rage filled killer or a Nightrunner.

Dying 2 Know Episode 5

December 2, 2021

Dying 2 Know Episode 5 is hosted by Jonah and Leah

To promote this episode, they sent out a ¨Scents of The City¨ kit, you can smell Choices and Consequences, Day and Night Cycle, and Vast Open World as well as make your own scent using provided scents.

The video opens with Jonah finding Leah playing Call of Juarez Gunslinger

They talk about the preview events that happened in October, with the footage from said event being posted in November. The footage from the event is all on PC and takes place during early Old Villedor and early Central Loop, the key differences between this version and the final version is different Aiden sounds when attacking or taking damage as well as slightly different HUD and UI elements.

A 16 minute gameplay trailer is shown, featuring A place to Call Home from the games campaign.

They talk about the UGC contest, Jonah reads part of a fan made story to Leah and announce an updated cosplay guide with pictures of Rosario Dawsons Lawan instead of the placeholder model.

TechlandGG also gets an update, adding Dying Light quests and an overhaul to the appearance of the site.

Jonah and Leah talk about Techland's 30th Anniversary and go over Techlands titles and announce a sale as well as Crime Cities being free on GOG and Call of Juarez Gunslinger being free on steam.

Dying 2 Know Episode 6

January 13, 2022

Dying 2 Know Episode 6 is hosted by Jonah and Leah

The video opens with Jonah and Leah talking about the plans for the episode and that its the last one until the launch of the game.

The UGC content is announced to have concluded and the finals being the week after.

A short clip of coop is shown, and it is announced that you can play it from right after the prologue to the ending.

They talk about a new TechlandGG update, and announce that they now have over 50 quests and the Banshee comic from Dying 2 Know Episode 2 has returned as a reward.

They show preview event reviews, most of which being positive.

They then show console gameplay on Playstation 4, Xbox One X, Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Developers are interviewed about their thoughts and stories during development

Jonah talks about the Dying Light community, and that he put hundreds of hours into the first game before being cast as Aiden.

They talk about Lawan and the new preorder bonus added to all existing preorders, the Reach for the Sky pack with an outfit for Lawan and a Paraglider skin for both Aiden and Lawan.

They show off The Reason Gameplay Trailer, showcasing more aspects of the story that had not been shown yet as well as things already shown.

They thank the viewers for watching the episodes, a short montage of developers thanking the players is shown.

The final thing shown is part of the Dying Light 2 intro montage that plays when you start the game.

Dying 2 Know Bloody Ties Special

Dying 2 Know Bloody Ties Special is hosted by Leah

The video opens with Leah introducing the viewer to Carnage Hall.

Leah talks about stuff they added post launch, including the Rais Commando outfit which was up for grabs until November 10th

The Bloody Ties Release Trailer is shown, which was the first time Ogar and Ciro were shown. The trailer also has an unreleased cover of Born to be Wild.

The Aristocrat pack is advertised, as well as showcasing a recent event where Techland invited community members to test out Bloody Ties.

Dying 2 Know More

Dying 2 Know More is hosted by Paulina Dziedziak (P_theprgirl) in it she interviews one developer about one topic and it typically lasts about 5 minutes, sometimes new gameplay is shown but it usually is just gameplay already shown. The series started after the Gamescom episode and new episodes were posted in the weeks after each episode.

  • Tymon´s favorite infected is the Revenant.
  • Leah appears in Dying Light 2 Stay Human as an ex pilgrim, she can be found at the church the Baba resides in.
  • Tymon appears as both a host and a guest.
  • The Fish Eye set in some episodes is an actual place in Techland's office.
  • The Gamescom Edition of Dying 2 Know has a special version of the Decide the Fate of The City trailer, there is just a bunch of random sound effects.
  • Dying 2 Know is the successor to the AMA series they did shortly after the March Update.
  • on January 31, 2023, a special titled ¨Dying 2 Celebrate¨ was streamed live on Twitch and revealed many things about the future of DL2, as well as answering questions from the community and highlighting community creations (Cosplay, Fanart, Photomode shots and more).
  • In March 2023, the thumbnails for most episodes were changed, the original thumbnails can be viewed on the other versions posted on the official channel.
