Windmill

Windmill is a Power skill available in Dying Light.

Windmill is used by holding down the attack button while carrying a 2-handed weapon. While doing this, Kyle will hold the weapon beside his head before unleashing a devastating spin upon having the attack button released, knocking back and possibly knocking down all enemies which were hit. This spin harms all enemies around him and will still apply all status effects from the weapon. After this, Kyle will suffer from a small recovery period which prevents him from immediately attacking or running.

Tactics

  • Choke points are a stellar place to use this skill, often allowing you to hit multiple enemies with a single Windmill. These are usually found in indoor spaces with long winding corridors and stairways such as the Striped Dragon Hotel.
  • Otherwise, it is best used in open spaces with lots of zombies and room for them to be knocked back
  • Sharp 2-handed weapons are a great candidate for this skill as they allow you to potentially kill multiple enemies at once.
  • Otherwise, weapons with Impact upgrades are also useful as they will knock enemies back further and create more breathing room.
  • Do not use this skill against Goons as they will not be knocked back by the attack and the recovery time will give the Goon a chance for a counter-attack.
  • Using the Camouflage skill to place yourself within a horde of zombies is usually a great idea as it gives you many targets to be hit by this skill.
  • It is best to have the Camouflage Attack skill as by the time the Biters have recovered, they will no longer recognize Kyle anymore (Due to how fast Virals recover, they will still attack you upon being hit).
  • Since most enemies will be knocked down by this attack, you may kill multiple enemies using the Stomp skill provided you are able to do so in quick succession.

Trivia

  • Just like the Power Attack, Biters are still able to grab Kyle while charging up this attack, thus canceling the attack altogether.
