Cheers! is a Side Quest in Dying Light 2 Stay Human.
Objectives
- Find Hans, the hunter, before he drinks the poisoned water.
- The hunter's wife, Anna, gave me some moonshine. I had to get it to Hans as soon as possible so that it could neutralize the poison.
- Find Hans at his favorite hunting spot.
- I warned Hans that he had a bottle of poisoned water. I managed to save his life.
- Find Marco, the water supplier.
- I made a deal with Marco to help him get rid of the infected, and he would tell me what he knew in return.
- Secure the building.
- Marco confessed to having used poisoned water in a trap for thieves. And then, while drunk, he confused the bottles and sold the poisoned water to Julian. He begged me not to tell anyone and to frame Julian instead. I agreed.
Walkthrough
While in the Bazaar, a merchant named Julian will ask Aiden for help in obtaining some items, but before he can finish he is accused of selling poisoned water to one of the Bazaarians by Bebbin and Ed. Julian deflects, saying he does not sell water, but the accusers are not convinced. Julian also states that even if Luuk stole one of his bottles, his water is pure and shouldn't have damaged him.
Upon suggesting someone may be out to get Julian, he will mention Marco, his water supplier, and tells Aiden where he can be found, in the west end of Old Villedor, Houndfield. Before sending Aiden off to find him, he also mentions that another survivor, Hans, might also have a bottle of the sabotaged water. Hans is in central Houndfield, so Julian asks Aiden to check on him as well, though this bit is optional.
Upon arrival at Hans' house, the door is locked with an easy lock which needs to be picked. Once inside, it turns out that he has left with the water and went to an old military watchtower a bit west of his house. His wife Anna gives a bottle of booze to give to Hans instead. Find Hans and deliver the booze. Delivering the booze will result in Hans giving five pieces of leather as a reward.
After helping Hans, head on over to Marco, who is located a bit southeast of where Hans is located. Enter the building through one of the open windows near the roof and go inside. Once inside, look for a door that is partially opened and go in. Go down a floor until you see a hole in the wall, crawl through it to find Marco.
Marco initially believes that Aiden is a water thief. upon being confronted with the poisoned water, Marco denies it. There are Infected in his lobby, and he asks Aiden to get rid of them before he is willing to say more. So head down to the lowest level and deal with the Infected. There are four Biters and Virals. After dealing with them, move the corpse stuck in the doorway to secure the area.
Upon clearing the area, Marco will show up, lock the door and turn on a generator. Marco initially still denies that there was anything wrong with his water, but upon further pressing he admits that a viral fell into one of his tubs which he uses for water production. As his water was constantly being stolen, he decided to bottle the contaminated water to get back at the thieves. He concludes that he must have accidentally sold some of the water to Julian, and offers to give Aiden some flour and money in return for Aiden keeping silent.
Keeping Silent
Aiden will ask Marco what will happen when Julian is accused, but Marco says that Julian will find a way to get out of the charges. Agree to Marco's offer to obtain some flour and Old World Money with Marco's gratitude, complething the quest.
Telling the Truth
If Aiden tells Marco to be honest and confess, Marco becomes defensive and claims that no one would buy water from him again if he did so. When it becomes clear to Marco that Aiden will not change his mind, he attacks. Defeat Marco and return to Julian at the Bazaar. The Bazaarian Luke, who had stolen some of the poisoned water, had died. Julian is accused of murder. Aiden will state that Marco sold Julian poisoned water by accident and was killed thereafter, clearing the charges.
Julian is grateful and gives Aiden his reward, completing the quest.
