Objectives

Objective icon.png
Climb to the ledge.
Spike seemed happy to see me. He wanted to show me something right away.

Objective icon.png
Follow Spike.
On the way, we came across a beehive. There was probably chamomile in the area, too. It would be a sin to pass these by.

Objective icon.png
Collect honey and chamomile.
I collected honey and chamomile. I knew what they could be used for.

Objective icon.png
Chamomile.
Objective icon.png
Honey.
Objective icon.png
Return to Spike.
Now that I have all the ingredients, I should craft some medicine.

Objective icon.png
Craft healing medicine.
I made myself medicine.

Objective icon.png
Follow Spike.
Spike led me to an abandoned villa. It was time for a little scavenger hunt.

Objective icon.png
Search the house
The house had not been looted and the pantry looked well stocked.

Objective icon.png
Explore the garden.
Out in the garden, we came across a group of people who had taken their own lives. Not everyone wanted to wait for the infected to get them. Some chose to go out on their own terms.

Objective icon.png
Join Spike on the terrace.
I couldn't believe my luck: Spike had gotten a lead on someone who knew where Waltz was. I was supposed to contact him using a radio antenna on a nearby hill on a frequency 140.200 MHz.

Objective icon.png
Search for a safe place to sleep.
I found someplace to spend the night, but it wouldn't be safe until I got the generator running.

Objective icon.png
Clear the area of Infected.
Search for a safe place to sleep.

Objective icon.png
I found someplace to spend the night.
Objective icon.png
Wait until morning.
I made it through the night without incident. In the morning, I radioed Spike's contact, who claimed to know what happened to Mia... my sister. He suggested meeting at the entrance to the metro tunnel.

Objective icon.png
Meet the contact in the metro tunnels.
Fucking hell... All those years on the road, I made it this far without a scratch and... I got bit. Now I'm infected. Spike's mysterious contact saved my life, but then... disappeared.

Objective icon.png
Find Spike's contact.
Masked thugs cornered the guy and demanded some "key". They were convinced I had hidden it.

Objective icon.png
Eliminate the masked thugs.
The thugs had no idea that they faced a Pilgrim. I showed them what I can do. But who were they anyway?!

Objective icon.png
Check on the contact.
The man Spike sent me to meet had been badly injured. He gave me what he called a "GRE access key." Then he told me to go to a place called the Fish Eye and find someone named Lawan there. He said this would help me learn about Mia's fate. He also told me that Waltz was in Villedor.

Objective icon.png
Eliminate the thugs.
The thugs I'd defeated earlier weren't the only ones in these tunnels. I got rid of these, too, but I began to wonder how many more I would meet.

Objective icon.png
Escape with the contact.
The guy said that Waltz could not get his hands on the GRE key. Then, he sacrificed himself to distract Waltz and his men, allowing me to escape.

Objective icon.png
Escape from Waltz and his henchmen.
I escaped Waltz and his men.

Objective icon.png
Get to Villedor.
If I was going to find out something about Mia, I needed to find the Fish Eye and Lawan.

Walkthrough

Upon starting the game, "Pilgrim's Path" will automatically start. Aiden will run away from a bunch of infected and jump across a chasm. Spike is standing on a large rock nearby, getting to him serves as the basic instruction regarding movement. Upon reaching him, Aiden and Spike will run through the forest for a bit until they come across some chamomile and honey, craft parts which need to be used to craft Medicine in order to proceed. As there are a couple of beehives and plants, one may wish to harvest all of them before proceeding.

After crafting the medicine, follow Spike to a nearby villa and investigate the interior by entering through the garage. The Newspaper Article - October 11th, 2020 memento can be found, as well as some loot. Upon heading outside, look for the Letter - Goodbye Letter memento to proceed further. Spike will call Aiden up and state he found a lead on Vincent Waltz. Before parting ways, he gives Aiden a Grubby Bat and tells him how Aiden can come in contact with his associate in Villedor.

Head south and open the gate leading out of the mansion, and then either jump down into the water below, or walk down using the dirt path on the side. A small building can be looted for some resources, as well as some experience fighting the infected, but can also be bypassed. Whether the building is looted or not, follow the path leading up to a small pond, and then climb into the exterior of the bus hanging off the highway. Climb up until the road itself is reached and proceed through the tunnel.

The tunnel is full of infected, so to avoid combat, stick to the roofs of the cars and busses. Once out on the other side, climb up the park trail and follow it to a bar. Upon arrival at the bar, night is about to fall. Enter the building in search of a safe place to rest. Use survivor sense to spot the trail leading into a backroom. Move the closet blocking the path in order to gain access to the bedroll and radio equipment. Unfortunately, the power is off and as such, a generator needs to be started to provide new power.

Head back outside and go to the shed near the building. Upon trying to open the shutter, a Banshee will appear and attack Aiden alongside three Biters. Dispatch them and open the shutter to gain access to the generator and start it up. After doing so, return to the safe place in the bar.

The radio equipment can be used at night time, but does not provide any intel to advance, so rest to the next day to use it and get in contact with Spike's associate. The two agree to meet up at Villedor's old metro tunnels, so head on over there. The informant asks Aiden for help getting to New Paris as payment for his service. Along the way, a small church is found. Inside, the memento Paradise Lost, Book IV can be found.

On the city outskirts, more biters can be found but they can be bypassed. A metro wagon can be seen hanging from a nearby track, and can be accessed from a platform near it. In order to gain access to the metro tunnels proper, jump on a military transport vehicle and use the rope to swing over the fence. Once at the metro tunnel, head inside and follow it. Eventually a cutscene will play where Aiden will be attacked by a Volatile, but he is saved by Spike's informant with a UV Bar. Aiden will pass out shortly thereafter, though not before hearing two Renegades abduct the informant.

Upon waking up, Aiden will pick up the flashlight dropped by the informant, which can now be used to illuminate dark areas. While looking for the contact again, the Renegades can be heard interrogating him as they are looking for a "key". The Renegades will turn their attention to Aiden when he drops down into the room where they are interrogating the informant, serving as the first real introduction to combat with perfect blocks. After dispatching them, speak to the informant who will give Aiden the GRE Access Key that the Renegades were looking for, which was found by the Peacekeepers. Despite Aiden asking about Mia, Dylan will continue talking and mention Lawan and the Fish Eye Canteen, and tells Aiden to give the GRE access key to her, stating that with her help and the key Aiden will learn everything.

Shortly after the conversation, three more Renegades show up. This time they serve as an introduction to the Vault Kick, which was unlocked with a combat point following the previous fight. To use it an enemy needs to be staggered - which typically happens after a perfect block. After defeating them, three more will show up. After those are defeated, return to the informant - Dylan - and try to escape. Dylan will let Aiden escape through a vent, upon looking back Waltz can be seen with a couple of Renegades. Waltz will kill Dylan after Dylan tells him he swallowed the key. Upon Aiden responding in shock, Waltz realizes he has been distracted and orders his men to get Aiden, so run away.

While running a the floor will fall away into some water which leads to some catacombs to a ladder leading to the Bazaar in Trinity. Upon going up the ladder, the quest is completed.

Trivia

  • During the introduction villa, a record player can be investigated using survivor sense, to which Aiden will read out the title as "Who Do You Voodoo", a reference to the Dead Island series.
