Objectives

Objective icon.png
Reach the Bazaar to wait for Hakon's call.
Thanks to the biomarker, I finally got into the Bazaar. Wow, what a lively place!

Objective icon.png
Talk to the people of the Bazaar to gain their trust.
I spoke to people at the Bazaar. Then I heard from Hakon, who claimed to know how to avoid the Peacekeeper patrols. I had to meet him on a roof next to the main metro station.

Objective icon.png
Meet Hakon.
Hakon's plan was to distract the Peacekeepers while I made my way to the metro station through a maintenance tunnel.

Objective icon.png
Get to the station through the metro tunnels.
The tunnels were swarming with infected, but I managed to reach the station.

Objective icon.png
Open the airlock.
Objective icon.png
Talk to Hakon.
Hakon suggested that Commander Lucas's signature weapon might have fallen into the hands of Hubert, a fence.

Objective icon.png
Find Hubert Kerbatsos.
I found Hubert, but he ran off before I could talk to him.

Objective icon.png
Catch Hubert.
I chased Hubert, but he eluded me at first. With Hakon's help, I was able to find his trail and resume my persuit.

Objective icon.png
Climb up to the GRE building roof.
Objective icon.png
Find Hubert.
I caught Hubert and made him talk. He confessed that a girl named Maya had offered to sell him the brass knuckles. He knew that would be a bad idea and refused to buy them.

Objective icon.png
Look for Maya.
The girl with the brass knuckles turned out to be... thirteen years old. She told me how she found the weapon with Lucas's body. After a short negotiation, she turned over the brass knuckles.

Objective icon.png
Find the brass knuckles thief.
Lucas's notorious brass knuckles were finally in my hands. Now all I had to do was to give them back to Aitor.

Objective icon.png
Report to Aitor.
I gave the brass knuckles to Aitor. He was impressed with my success and offered to let me to the Center ... provided I identified Lucas's murderer. I agreed.

Objective icon.png
Find Lucas's killer.
Objective icon.png
Talk to Hakon.
Hakon offered to help me find Lucas's killer. He volunteered to speak to the Bazaar's leader, Carl. And I was going to speak to his head of security, a woman named Sophie.

Objective icon.png
Question Sophie about Lucas.
Sophie wouldn't talk to me until I earned her trust.

Objective icon.png
Ask the craftmasters about the crystals.
I met Alberto and Vincenzo. They told me that Sophie's brother had already asked them about the darkzone where they were located. I had competition.

Objective icon.png
Talk to Sophie.
Sophie was surprised to hear that her brother had already asked about the dark zone. She became worried that he had gone there injured, which could get him killed. I promised to go after him.

Walkthrough

As Aiden will have to wait some time before Hakon's plan can be set into motion, Hakon suggests Aiden checks out the Bazaar which, now that Aiden has a Biomarker, can be accessed and will be unlocked as a safe zone upon entering. Once at the Bazaar, speak to the people there and do some quests for them until Hakon contacts Aiden again. Some people will offer quests, like Carlos, or Julian, while others will only provide some dialogue, like Lena, Urban, or Ahab. Just outside the Bazaar, the missing persons poster can also be checked. Upon doing so, a man named Abraham will show up and speak to Aiden as well.

After doing the quests, Hakon will contact Aiden again and ask him to meet him near the Main Terminal Station, which is located in the Quarry End district, south of the Bazaar and Trinity. Head over there. Once there, Hakon will tell Aiden that the Main Terminal Station serves as the main base of operations of the Peacekeepers in Old Villedor, and that his plan is to distract them to draw them away from the platform so Aiden can open the metro tunnels to get to the Central Loop in order to get to the Fish Eye Canteen. He will tell Aiden to use the tunnels to get to the Main Terminal Station, and to sleep as there will be less infected in the tunnels at night. When waking up at night, Aiden is introduced to the Bolter, which can be seen running away, but will not have to be chased.

Jump down to the ground level and dispatch the infected near the tunnel hatch. After doing so, unlock the medium-locked hatch to gain access to the tunnels a maintenance room. Go through it and enter the room adjacent to it. While it may appear like a dead end, there is an air vent with a yellow cloth which needs to be climbed through to proceed to the tunnels proper.

While not necessary it is useful to carry some UV Shroomz before going into the tunnels, as the tunnels are a dark area which, while also having some UV Shroomz growing themselves, can still prove difficult to traverse with a safe amount of immunity if supplies are not brought. At each of the tunnel tracks, several biters and virals can be found.

Once at the tunnel area, crawl under the gate to gain access to the second area. From there, follow the tracks to the dead end. Head on over to a door leading to a side passage, it will be locked with an easy lock. Unlock it and go through it, then head to the other side to return to the metro tracks on the other side. Again, crawl underneath the gate and then go through a metro cart and underneath another gate to get to another part of the track. Here a metro cart can be found, its doors closed. Push the doors open and go through the cart, or enter from the side, and proceed to the next part of the tracks. Once outside, crawl underneath the gate to get to the final part of the tracks, a small uv bar is on the floor which can be used to regain immunity.

Once at the final part of the tracks, turn left and try to open the door. A Spitter will attack alongside two biters. Spitters are a dangerous enemy as their spit deals poison damage over time, so it is advisable to take cover as they spit and quickly strike while they recover. After dispatching the infected, return to the door and unlock it, as it is locked with a medium-level lock. Once inside go through another door and head up into the ventilation shaft. Some Peacekeepers, Gunne, Nilo, Brooks and Berislav, can be heard in conversation with Hakon.

After getting through the vents, head on over to the far side of the hall and pull a grate off the wall and crawl through it to gain access to the metro platform. Turn left upon entering the platform and head on over to the tracks. There is a green button which is meant to unlock the airlock, push it and two Peacekeepers will show up demanding to know what Aiden is doing. Without a chance to answer, they knock Aiden out.

When Aiden comes to, a Peacekeeper named Rudy will tell Aitor that Aiden was caught wandering through the tunnels. Aiden is also met by Anderson who interrogates him using threats of violence the way Lucas used to run the Peacekeepers, as she is convinced Aiden is from the Bazaar. Aitor, who turns out to be the new commander of the Peacekeepers in Old Villedor, takes over the interrogation instead and orders Anderson to leave the room while cutting Aiden's binds. He will initially ask a bit about Aiden's background, but will eventually cut to the chase and explain that he needs to find out who killed his predecessor, Lucas, before the Peacekeeper high command orders him to burn down the Bazaar, as he would rather avoid that. He asks Aiden to look out for Lucas' signature weapon, The Lazarus, a set of brass knuckledusters, and inform him when if and when he locates them. He will then tell Aiden that until the killer is caught the passage remains closed, but that if Aiden retrieves the Lazarus, he will remember that. After stating so, Aitor will leave the room.

Following the conversation, the player regains access to Aiden and the Main Terminal Station is now unlocked as a safe zone. Inside the station, several characters can be spoken to and Hakon will call upon Aiden to meet. One of the characters that can be spoken to is a Carrier, part of the Carriers Guild, who needs to be spoken to in order to later gain access to the "Carriers" side quest. Another person who can be spoken to is the Peacekeeper Brooks, who could previously be overheard in conversation while going through the vents. Similarly, Berislav can also be found and spoken to.

Upon leaving the station, Anderson can be seen and heard speaking to Carl, who asks for aid against bandits as there would be a rebellion in the Bazaar otherwise. Anderson is willing to help, but only if the Bazaarians help with the investigation. Carl refuses to allow the Peacekeepers to search the homes of his people, and so Anderson refuses to aid him as well and threatens Carl that if he is hiding something from the Peacekeepers they will soon have to raze the Bazaar to the ground.

Whether the conversation is listened to or not, exit the Peacekeeper fortifications and head straight to Hakon, who can be found on a nearby roof. The two will talk about the mission Aitor set Aiden on, which will lead Hakon to suggest Hubert as a possible lead, as Hubert works as a fence. He will direct Aiden to the nearby 'Oak' Windmill to look for Hubert while he himself will try to track down some other leads on the Lazarus.

Once on the 'Oak' Windmill speak to the squatting man, who turns out to be Benny as opposed to Hubert. Benny is also waiting, so he recommends just waiting around for Hubert to show up, so Aiden will wait for a couple of hours. Another man, Ahab, who was previously found at the Bazaar, can now be spoken to. Ahab will yell out to Hubert that he's got a special customer, though upon hearing so, Hubert will run away, so chase him down.

Along the way Hubert will escape, but through the aid of Hakon, Aiden is able to track him down to the THV Genomics Center quarantine building. Climb up to the top and check the roof entrance to the quarantine building to find Hubert. In conversation, Hubert states he does not have the Lazarus but does state he knows that they were a pair of brass knuckles. Eventually he will break and admit that someone did try to sell them to him, but he will refuse to give the name, until pressured by Aiden. He will then state that Maya tried to sell them to him, and that she lives in the tenement building at Meatpacking Square, which is in Houndfield to the northwest of the THV Genomics Center. He then asks Aiden to leave him alone.

Upon entering the tenement building, turn left and head to the back of the room. Go through the doorway, go the back of the hall, turn right and climb up the boxes. Here a GRE crate containing two Inhibitors is located. In a room nearby two children, Maya and Dominik can also be found, as well as the Lullaby grafitti collectable.

Maya will state that they found the weapon when she and some others ran across a corpse and decided to search it. Maya took the weapon thinking she could make some money off of them, but nobody has been willing to pay for them. As such, she asks Aiden to pay 500 Old World Money for the weapon. Aiden can either negotiate for the price, or just demand she hands them over. Either option will result in Aiden getting a hold over the weapon. Upon having the Lazarus, Aiden will contact Hakon to update him. Then return to Aitor at the Main Terminal Station to report in.

Upon returning to Aitor he is in the midst of getting his new rank-tattoo. Upon hearing Aiden has obtained the Lazarus, Aitor is glad and asks where the person is who had the weapon. Upon hearing it was a little girl, Aitor tells his tattoo artist to leave the room. Aiden will then ask Aitor for access to the Central Loop, to which Aitor again responds by stating he cannot do so unless the killer is found. He will also share that, as Lucas was murdered in the Bazaar, he believes the killer to have been from the Bazaar as well. He will also share that Lucas' rank tattoo was cut from his arm, and that finding that piece of skin is a key way to finding the killer, but he will also tell Aiden to keep this news from the other Peacekeepers as it would cause them to freak out. After the conversation, Aitor can be spoken to again but this is optional. Otherwise leave the station. On the way out, Hakon will contact Aiden as well and ask him to meet up, he can be found near the entrance of the station.

Aiden will tell Hakon that Lucas's murderer needs to be found before anyone can go to the Center. Hakon will state that there are only two people at the Bazaar who matter, Carl, who leads the Bazaar, and Sophie, who is his right hand. He will also mention Dodger, a gangster who knows about the current situation and the bandits led by Joe. Ultimately Hakon states he will deal with Carl while recommending Aiden to deal with Sophie.

Head on over to the Bazaar to find Sophie. Unlike previous times, the door is guarded by a man named Roger and another unnamed survivor will ask who Aiden is, but upon hearing he is a Pilgrim tells him to watch his back. Upon entering the Bazaar grounds, Roger will state Carl wants to meet up with Aiden, and so directs him to the eastern part of the Bazaar grounds. Carl will explain why the Bazaar initially decided to hang Aiden, and then have a conversation regarding the outside world and Aiden's position using a metaphor. Aiden will then state he is looking for Sophie, being given three options to choose as to why: being honest and stating it is about Lucas' death, refusing to give the reason, or lie and state it is a package delivery. Regardless of the choice made, Carl will direct Aiden to Hermann, Sophie's bodyguard, next to who Sophie herself is standing.

Upon trying to speak to Sophie, Hermann will lift Aiden up until Sophie orders him to put Aiden back down before stating she already knows who Aiden is. As she mistrusts Aiden she is unwilling to work with him, and so she tells Aiden that in order to gain her trust Aiden needs to do some work for the people of the Bazaar. Head on inside the Bazaar proper and speak to Damien near the entrance and Dodger at the bar to get a quest. When Sophie contacts Aiden again, return to Sophie to proceed.

Sophie will state she has been hearing useful things, and that as such she is now willing to work with Aiden. She tells Aiden to go to either Alberto or Vincenzo, as both know the locations of the purest crystals, which she needs for a certain transaction which she is unwilling to share details about. Before parting ways she will state that if Aiden does well she will think about giving Aiden bigger jobs.

Head on over to the two Craftmasters, who can be found near the end of the interior of the Bazaar, and talk to them. During the conversation, Alberto and Vincenzo will state that they already sent someone out to ask for the crystals, Barney, the unnamed survivor from before, to be precise. Vincenzo will tell Aiden where Barney went to find the crystals. Armed with the new information, return to Sophie.

In conversation with Sophie it becomes clear that Barney went after the crystals on his own, as he always tries to prove himself. Most recently, he got wounded during the effort, though he refused to tell Sophie how it happened. Aiden will offer to save Barney, to the gratitude of Sophie who will wish Aiden good luck, completing the quest.
