Total Security
| "Jaffar received a message from a group of survivors. Their Leader is Hanson, who had been in charge of security at the Tower. It seems there's been an accident and they need help." Quest introduction

Total Security is a side quest available in Dying Light.[1]
Objectives
- Find Hanson's group at The Slabs.
- The entire building is locked and electrified. There's no way to scale it without shutting off the power. Hanson certainly knew how to keep out the biters.
- Shut off the generator
- I've found Hanson. Looks like he fell to his death after switching on the electrical grid.
- Investigate the area
- Hanson's people killed themselves. Once the electrical system was on they became stuck on the roof with no way off, and no way to get back in the building. Hanson's security was a little too perfect.
Walkthrough
After having turned the antennas on for Rais, speak to Jaffar. He will state that he has gotten a signal from Hanson's group and asks Crane to investigate. Head to the apartment buildings south of the bus station, located in the northwest area of the map, an area known as the Slabs.
Arrive at the building to find it surrounded by electrical traps and contact Jaffar. Shut off the generators, located to the north, east, and south of the building in small shacks. The body of Hanson can be found at the northern shack, the southern shack is locked with an easy lock and guarded by a goon, and the eastern shack has a toad atop of it. Enter each of the shacks and shut off the generators inside, then return to the building.
Climb up to the roof using the scaffolding or a Grappling Hook. Atop the building it becomes clear that a mass suicide has taken place as a result of Hanson falling from the building, leaving the other survivors stranded on the roof with no way down as Hanson had the keys to enter the building itself. Climb up on the northern construction to off the radio. A small voice recorder can be found next to the door of the southern building on the roof. Pick it up and listen to it:
Seref's Recording: "This is Seref. It seems we've run out of options. Two weeks ago, Hanson fell off the scaffold, right after switching on the security system. But now the entire building is electrified, and we've been trapped up here ever since. No one's responded to our distress calls, and we've run out of supplies. The only thing left is some cyanide that Hanson thoughtfully brought with him. Anyway, given the choices, we've all decided to go this way. There was talk of trying to go cannibal, but then we'd just be smarter versions of biters. Better this way. Besides, how smart are we for allowing Hanson to leave us stranded up here in the first place? Thanks for finding us, whoever you are. Sorry for the mess. - Seref Hasan."
After listening to the recording, make contact with Jaffar one last time to finish the quest.

Bugs
- Glitch PS4 Recorder won't appear on chair.
- After completing the sidequest 'The Big Bang Thesis' there is a bug/glitch where the exclamation point appeared on the map for 'Total Security' as it should. However, when you approach Jaffar the prompt button doesnt do anything. There is no name in the black dialogue box like any other interactive NPC in the game
- Sometimes after turning off all generators It glitches and just keeps saying shut off the generator, even if it was done. When this happens you need to go to the cab with first generator and after the dialogue finishes you can go back and pick recorder from chair.
