Ziya took his child into the town well and started gathering canned food for them to survive off of. Unfortunately, his son turned into a screamer and Ziya himself was shot with a crossbow. He can be found in the cave entrance which leads to an underwater cave to the town well.
Ziya:"Hey... listen... please..." Crane:"Christ... Shit... okay. I'm listening." Ziya:"There... in there... that's my child... Don't... Don't let him... Die of hunger... Don't let... him suffer..."
